Sanya - Sunshine Coast II

Just when you think there is only one Sunshine Coast, it actually turns out that China has a "sunshine coast" all of its own!....SANYA....Beautiful one day....Perfect the next.

What's more China's sunshine coast is no fake, here's proof..

In the last month Andy and I have been fortunate to spend two wonderful weekends in Sanya. The first in the brand spanking new Ritz Carlton and the second in the older but equally as lovely Hilton.
Sanya is on the south side of the island of Hainan and is approximately a 3 hour flight from Shanghai (in our experiences its a good idea to add about 2 hours for flight delays!!) Sanya is as far south as the southern reaches of Hawaii and Hanoi in Vietnam which is the reason for its wonderful tropical climate. The beach is beautiful and the water is crystal clear. The other great thing about Sanya is the population is about 20 million less than Shanghai.

Sanya is wonderful, the weather is wonderful (although far too hot in summer), the resorts are wonderful (even the beach is swept over in the morning), cocktails are wonderful (served by the pool (s) or on the beach) and service is second to none.
